Dr. Ng Jing Yu is a warm and approachable general and colorectal surgeon with over 17 years of experience caring for patients. He manages a full range of colorectal and general surgical conditions — from hernias, gallbladder disease and piles to colorectal cancer and other bowel and anal disorders — and is committed to offering the most effective and comfortable treatment options available.
Dr. Ng has a special focus on minimally invasive surgery, including laparoscopic, robotic, and transanal techniques, which often mean smaller incisions, faster recovery, and less pain. He is also highly experienced in laser treatments for haemorrhoids and other perianal conditions, providing gentle solutions for common but often distressing problems.
After graduating from the National University of Singapore in 2008, Dr. Ng completed his general surgery training at the National University Hospital (NUH) and later sub-specialised in colorectal surgery. In 2020, he was awarded the prestigious Ministry of Health HMDP fellowship and trained at the Koo Foundation Sun Yat-Sen Cancer Center in Taiwan, where he honed advanced surgical techniques that he now brings to his patients every day. Before moving into private practice, he served as a Senior Consultant and Assistant Professor in the Division of Colorectal Surgery at NUH.
Passionate about education, Dr. Ng has mentored and trained numerous younger surgeons, earning multiple Teaching Excellence awards. He previously served as Associate Program Director of the General Surgery Residency and led the Colorectal Fellowship Programme at NUH. Today, he continues to contribute to surgical training as a visiting consultant, reflecting his dedication to advancing the profession.
Above all, Dr. Ng believes in treating every patient with compassion, clarity, and respect — helping them feel informed, reassured, and confident in their care.
